While LL Cool J is set to release a new album this year, he is equally focused on reflecting on his legacy and his influence in the hip-hop realm from a retrospective viewpoint. He enjoys celebrating his career and his iconic status but is not keen on undergoing the typical industry procedures expected of someone with his stature. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the legendary New York rapper mentioned his lack of interest in a biopic or documentary about his life. However, if such a project were to materialize, he had a humorous and intriguing response regarding who he would want to portray him.

“I’m open to it, but I’m not gonna lie, it bores me a little bit,” LL Cool J stated concerning the idea of a film based on his life and work. “I have mixed feelings about it; I have a lot on my plate creatively, and I feel like there’s so much I can contribute. It’s not that I’m against it. I’m open to the possibility of a documentary or biopic, but it just doesn’t thrill me.”

Despite expressing that the idea of a biopic bores him, LL Cool J insists that his journey and accomplishments are anything but dull. “It’s like looking at myself in the mirror wearing my jeans; it’s a strange feeling for me,” he remarked. He also commented on Snoop Dogg working on his own biographical project and how Snoop has shown interest in making one about LL. “Only if he plays me,” LL joked, adding, “I’d want Snoop to be me in the biopic. He can produce it if he gets that role!”

LL Cool J’s wisdom extends beyond his own experiences to the new generation of artists as well. “This is wild,” he commented on the rivalry between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, particularly regarding the ‘Not Like Us’ cover art. “It’s unrelated, but it’s hilarious. That kind of creativity deserves respect.”
