Bebe Rexha claims she faced discrimination at a German airport, explaining that she was denied access through security in what she describes as a “hate crime.”
The artist posted videos showing her in tears at Munich International Airport, where she alleged a supervisor from her Lufthansa flight threatened her and prevented her from boarding.
Bebe stated that she spoke Albanian to one of the airport security officers, believing he understood her, which she claims resulted in a heated exchange with airport personnel.
Rexha is confident that she was the victim of a hate crime due to her Albanian heritage and insists that the alleged discrimination didn’t stop there.
Bebe alleges that the security staff persisted in “mentally abusing” her while exerting their authority, with no one intervening on her behalf. She attempted to obtain the officer’s name to file a complaint, but he refused to share it.
As a side note, Bebe learned Albanian from a young age because her father hailed from North Macedonia, which has a prominent Albanian-speaking population, and her mother has Albanian ancestry.
A spokesperson for Lufthansa told TMZ that they are in direct communication with Bebe to understand the full details of the incident. They emphasized their commitment to connecting people globally and highlighted that diversity and equal opportunity are core values of their airline.
We were informed that Lufthansa does not tolerate any form of discriminatory behavior and that they will conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
