Snoop Dogg has taken the spotlight at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, but Flavor Flav has emerged as one of its unexpected champions.

The Public Enemy icon provided sponsorship for the Women’s Water Polo team and even assisted an Olympian with her rent during the event.

Recently, Flav offered to craft a unique bronze clock for gymnast Jordan Chiles, who proudly represented Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. She originally placed fifth in the individual floor exercise on August 5 with her Beyoncé-themed routine, but was later elevated to third place following her coach Cecile Landi’s successful inquiry regarding a split leap that went uncredited.

“Ayyy YOOOO @ChilesJordan,,, I’m going to make you a BRONZE CLOCK NECKLACE,,, something that NO ONE else will have,!!! Hit me up my girl,,, I gotchu,!!!” Flav posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), accompanied by a GIF of him dancing at the Olympics while flaunting his clock necklace.

As reported by Newsweek, Chiles expressed her joy after the competition to NBC, stating that achieving this milestone was “a dream come true.” She added, “This is my first time ever in an event final. We referred to it as a redemption tour, and I aimed to perform my very best. This medal signifies so much to me; it’s my first event final, first event medal. I can’t find the words, but I’m incredibly proud of myself.”

Yet, her joy was quickly overshadowed by disappointment when the Romanian Federation of Gymnastics lodged an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), claiming Chiles’ inquiry was not filed on time. The court sided with the Federation, placing Chiles back in fifth and requiring her to return the bronze medal. Despite this, Team USA has committed to advocating for her to retain it.

Flavor Flav recently showcased the custom clock on X, stating, “USA gonna Fight the Powers that be,,, in the meantime between time,,, I’ll always be a man of my word @ChilesJordan,” referencing Public Enemy’s iconic track “Fight the Power.”

When Flav made his generous offer, Gina Chiles—the gymnast’s mother—responded, “Thank you. It means the world. She’s not on social media right now, as you can imagine. I will share this with her.”

Today, Jordan Chiles returned to social media briefly to issue a statement regarding the decision to take away her medal, expressing that it “feels unjust and constitutes a significant setback, not just for me, but for everyone supporting my journey.”

She further stated, “I will remain unwavering in my commitment to compete with integrity, striving for greatness, while adhering to the principles of sportsmanship and fairness. I take pride in supporting everyone, regardless of team or country. Embracing joy has been a transformative experience, and I adore witnessing others do the same. I feel like I’ve encouraged everyone to be authentic to who they truly are.”
