Dr. Dre has recently announced his intention to take up archery and compete in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, his hometown. While some fans may find this unexpected, one expert is thrilled about the idea: Justin Huish, a two-time Olympic gold medalist. As a fellow California resident, Huish has offered to train the iconic producer, expressing excitement about the possibility despite Dr. Dre’s age of 59 in an interview with TMZ Sports.

“Anyone can do it at any age,” Huish remarked about Dr. Dre. “There’s no real age limit. You can be a phenom without even knowing it. I’ll come to your place and dedicate my time to train with you. If you’re genuinely committed, let’s connect and make it happen!” Dr. Dre reflected on his archery journey, sharing that he’s set up practice in his backyard, mentioning, “I’ve heard that the Olympic qualifying distance is 77 feet, but I aim for 90.” It would indeed be a remarkable achievement for him to represent his city during the Olympics, as long as he doesn’t overshadow more deserving athletes.

However, Dr. Dre has expressed some criticism regarding this year’s events, especially related to the breakdancing competitions. “I didn’t appreciate that,” he shared with Entertainment Tonight. “There are so many exceptional breakdancers, so I’m not sure why this specific participant was chosen.” While many speculate this comment was aimed at Australian B-Girl Raygun and her viral performance, it remains uncertain. Regardless, the breakdancing event will not make a return during the Olympics in L.A., whether or not it garnered fans this year.

In other news, Dr. Dre is eager to finish his collaborative album with Snoop Dogg, titled Missionary. “This project will showcase a new level of maturity in both his lyrics and my production,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I believe this is some of the finest music I’ve created in my career. [It’s been] a lot more enjoyable.” Fans are eagerly awaiting the outcome of this collaboration.
